Everyone gets here a different way.

Different starting points, the same goal: to get through the day with energy left over, think clearly, and enjoy the things you've been putting off. Iron isn't the answer to all of that. But if low iron is part of it, how you take it matters.

Running on empty

You get through the day, but it takes everything you have. By mid-afternoon you're rereading the same email and saying no to things you'd usually enjoy.

Heavy periods

If your periods are heavy, you lose iron every month and may never quite catch up before the next one.

Pills that didn't agree with you

You took iron tablets until your stomach couldn't anymore. The bottle is somewhere in a drawer.

Results that don't add up

Months of effort and a ferritin result that barely moved. Or labs called “normal” when you don't feel normal.

One strip, on your tongue. That's the routine.

Raspberry flavored. One a day, at any time of day.

Open one sachet.

Each strip is individually wrapped, so a day's dose fits in a pocket or bag.

Put it on your tongue and let it melt.

Raspberry flavored, sweetened with monk fruit and stevia.

Swallow. No pill, no water.

Your body absorbs the iron through your gut, like any iron you take by mouth. The strip changes how you take iron, not where it's absorbed.

If iron hasn't worked for you, there's usually a reason.

Sometimes the cause needs a doctor's attention: ongoing heavy bleeding, a condition that affects absorption, or a medicine that interferes with iron. But here's one common pattern:

  • You're handed a big dose. A standard ferrous sulfate tablet has 65 mg of iron, and some women are told to take two or three a day.
  • Big doses trigger a slowdown. In a study of 54 iron-depleted young women, doses of 60 mg or more raised hepcidin, and about 35–45% less of the next day's dose was absorbed.
  • Your stomach pays for it. The NIH notes that iron doses of 45 mg a day or more may cause nausea and constipation.
  • So you skip a day, then a week. Not because you're bad at this, but because it made you feel worse.
  • Your stores never get a steady supply, and you conclude iron doesn't work for you.

What a daily strip can't do: if bleeding, an absorption problem or another condition is behind your low iron, a supplement may not keep up on its own. It can't slow bleeding, and it isn't a substitute for a clinician's plan.

What we did differently

Rosette Melt is built around those problems, not around a bigger number on the label.

What we did differently

Rosette Melt is built around those problems, not around a bigger number on the label.

A smaller dose, once a day.

19 mg sits below the 60 mg doses that raised hepcidin in that study. Smaller doses also get a larger share absorbed: not a bigger total, a bigger share.

Nothing to swallow.

For anyone who finds large tablets hard to swallow, or is simply done with them.

No schedule to manage.

One strip a day. No splitting doses and no alternate-day calendar.

A taste you won't dread.

Raspberry, sweetened with monk fruit and stevia, with a little tartness from citric acid.

Straight answers to the usual questions

Including the parts most iron brands leave out.

“Will it bother my stomach?”

We can't promise it won't. Nobody can promise that about any iron, and we haven't run a tolerability study on Rosette Melt. Here's what we can tell you.

What we can say

  • The dose is lower. 19 mg a day. The NIH notes that 45 mg a day or more may cause nausea and constipation, and a standard ferrous sulfate tablet has 65 mg.
  • There's no tablet. Nothing large to swallow and nothing to wash down.
  • You're covered either way. If it doesn't agree with you, email us within 90 days of delivery and we'll refund your order.

It depends what it's for.

19 mg is 106% of the daily value: a steady everyday dose, meant to be taken daily over months. It isn't a treatment for iron-deficiency anemia. If you've been diagnosed with anemia, or your ferritin is in the single digits, your clinician may want a higher dose or a different plan.

Why we didn't go bigger

  • More iron isn't absorbed in proportion. In the hepcidin study, a dose six times larger led to about 2.7 times more iron absorbed: more in total, but a much smaller share.
  • A lower dose held up in one trial. In frequent blood donors, 19 mg and 38 mg of iron a day for 60 days had effects on total body iron that the researchers couldn't tell apart.

What it found, and what it didn't test

Moretti et al., Blood, 2015. In 54 iron-depleted young women, doses of 60 mg or more raised hepcidin and cut next-day absorption by about 35–45%. The lowest dose tested was 40 mg. It didn't test 19 mg, ferric saccharate, strips, or how anyone felt.

Bialkowski et al., American Journal of Hematology, 2017. In frequent blood donors, 19 mg and 38 mg of ferrous gluconate for 60 days had similar effects on total body iron. It didn't test women with heavy periods or anemia, or this product.

About Rosette Melt itself

The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements sets the adult upper limit at 45 mg a day because of stomach side effects from iron supplements.

Rosette Melt hasn't been tested in its own clinical trial, and there is little published research on oral ferric saccharate. The studies above are why we chose 19 mg. They aren't proof of what Rosette Melt will do for you.

What to expect

Iron stores rebuild over months, not days.

Before you start

Know your number

If you don't know your ferritin, ask for it by name. Hemoglobin shows the iron at work in your blood today; ferritin shows what's in storage, and storage usually runs low first. A result can sit inside a lab's “normal” range and still be under 30, the level the NIH uses to mark iron deficiency.

Weeks 1–4

Build the habit

One strip a day. Keep the tin where you'll see it every morning.

After a couple of months

Recheck with your clinician

Ask whether it's time to recheck your ferritin, and compare it with where you started. How you feel and what your labs say don't always move together.

If nothing has changed

Don't just keep waiting

Low iron isn't the only thing that leaves people drained. A doctor can help find what else is going on.

How it compares to the iron you've probably tried

Compared by label facts and published research, not by brand. The tablet is a standard ferrous sulfate 325 mg; the “gentle” capsule is iron bisglycinate.

Iron per serving
Rosette Melt: 19 mg
Ferrous sulfate tablet: 65 mg
“Gentle” iron capsule: Often about 25 mg; varies by brand

How you take it
Rosette Melt: Melts on your tongue, then you swallow; no water
Ferrous sulfate tablet: Swallow with water
“Gentle” iron capsule: Swallow with water

Below the 45 mg a day the NIH links to stomach side effects
Rosette Melt: Yes
Ferrous sulfate tablet: No
“Gentle” iron capsule: Usually

Below the 60 mg doses shown to raise hepcidin
Rosette Melt: Yes
Ferrous sulfate tablet: No
“Gentle” iron capsule: Usually

Research on this form
Rosette Melt: Little on oral ferric saccharate; none on Rosette Melt yet
Ferrous sulfate tablet: The most studied form
“Gentle” iron capsule: Some; varies by product

Cost per day
Rosette Melt: $1.22–$1.83, depending on how many tins you buy
Ferrous sulfate tablet: Usually a few cents
“Gentle” iron capsule: Usually under $1

On price, tablets and capsules both cost less. Rosette Melt is for when they haven't worked for you.

What your supply pays for

Depending on the supply you choose, Rosette Melt works out to $1.83 a day (1 tin), $1.41 a day (3 tins) or $1.22 a day (6 tins).

A bottle of ferrous sulfate costs a few cents a day. If you can take it every day without trouble, keep taking it. Rosette Melt is for when that hasn't worked out.

What's in every strip

Vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free, with no gelatin. 30 individually wrapped strips per tin, one strip per serving.

Iron 19 mg (as ferric saccharate), 106% DV +

Supports normal red blood cell formation and oxygen transport.*

Folate 400 mcg DFE (240 mcg folic acid), 100% DV +

Supports normal cell formation.*

Other ingredients, and what they're for +

Pullulan, cellulose, lecithin, raspberry flavor, monk fruit extract, citric acid, medium-chain triglycerides, xanthan gum, steviol glycosides.

Pullulan and cellulose form the strip. Raspberry flavor, monk fruit and stevia flavor and sweeten it. Citric acid adds tartness. Lecithin, MCT oil and xanthan gum keep it smooth and holding together.

Directions +

Place one strip on your tongue and let it dissolve before swallowing. Take one strip a day, at any time. Do not take more than one strip a day.

Warnings +

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the safety seal is damaged or missing. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Pregnant or nursing mothers, children under 18, and individuals with a known medical condition should consult a physician before using this or any dietary supplement.

Accidental overdose of iron-containing products is a leading cause of fatal poisoning in children under 6. Keep this product out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, call a doctor or poison control center immediately.

Is it right for you?

We'd rather lose a sale than have you put off something that needs a doctor.

It may suit you if

  • You know or suspect your iron is low, and want a daily iron you can keep up with.
  • Iron tablets have been hard on you, or you'd rather not swallow another pill.
  • Your periods are heavy and you want to replace iron day to day, alongside whatever you and your doctor are doing about the bleeding.
  • Your ferritin is on the low side, and you want a simple routine while you keep an eye on it.

Talk to a doctor first if

  • You're pregnant or breastfeeding, or under 18.
  • You have a medical condition or take prescription medication.
  • You have, or might have, an iron-overload condition such as hemochromatosis.
  • You've been diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia, or your ferritin is in the single digits.
  • Heavy periods: you soak through a pad or tampon every hour for several hours, pass clots the size of a quarter or larger, or bleed for more than 7 days.
  • You feel dizzy or short of breath, or notice your heart racing.

Common questions

More answers on our FAQ page, or email us at info@shopclova.com.

What does it taste like? +

Raspberry, sweetened with monk fruit and stevia, with a little tartness from citric acid. Iron can leave a slight metallic taste for some people, and taste is personal. If you can't get on with it, the 90-day guarantee covers that too.

How long does a tin last? +

A tin holds 30 strips. At one strip a day, that's 30 days.

What if I miss a day? +

Take your next strip as usual. Don't take two to catch up.

Can I take it with coffee, tea, calcium or medication? +

Iron absorbs best away from coffee, tea and calcium, so leave an hour or two between them when you can. Some medicines, including thyroid medication and certain antibiotics, interact with iron. Ask your pharmacist how to time them.

I already take a multivitamin with iron. Can I take this too? +

Add up the iron from both. The NIH's upper limit for adults is 45 mg a day. If you're getting close to that, or your clinician has you on a set dose, check with them first.

Can I take it while pregnant or breastfeeding? +

Talk to your clinician first. Rosette Melt isn't a prenatal vitamin.

Will it make my periods lighter? +

No. Rosette Melt doesn't change how much you bleed. It can help replace iron you lose. If your periods are heavy, that deserves its own conversation with a doctor.

How does the 90-day guarantee work? +

Email info@shopclova.com within 90 days of delivery with your order number, and we'll refund your order. No lab results needed. Returns & 90-Day Guarantee
